About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide competency-based instruction in veterinary technology within classroom, lab, and clinical settings
- Develop and utilize various instructional strategies and delivery methods to meet diverse learning styles
- Prepare lecture, lab, and class materials, including the development of current course syllabi and outlines
- Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress, and competency attainment
- Participate in curriculum development, course revision, and the selection of instructional materials
- Advise students regarding academic needs and assist in program recruitment and marketing
- Work collegially within the academic environment, participating in college projects, committees, and advisory activities
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
- 3 years of non-teaching related work experience
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment
- Demonstrated effectiveness working with populations having diverse values and varied cultural backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience
- Ability to use and apply alternative instructional delivery systems to enhance learning
- Experience in curriculum development and learning assessment
