About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach African American Studies or Leadership skills to high school students during a one-week Summer Institute of Leadership program
  • Provide educational and networking opportunities for sophomore through senior high school students from Chicago Public Schools
  • Facilitate instructional programs held from 9 AM to 12 Noon between June 29 and July 3
  • Motivate students and help them develop essential leadership skills

Requirements

  • BA or BS in education, history, sociology, or psychology
  • 3-5 years of teaching experience or equivalent
  • Proven experience working with teenagers
  • Effective communication and listening skills
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve project goals and objectives

Preferred Qualifications

  • MA or PhD in a relevant field

Benefits

  • Stipend ranging from $1,000.00 to $1,750.00 based on education and experience
