About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach African American Studies or Leadership skills to high school students during a one-week Summer Institute of Leadership program
- Provide educational and networking opportunities for sophomore through senior high school students from Chicago Public Schools
- Facilitate instructional programs held from 9 AM to 12 Noon between June 29 and July 3
- Motivate students and help them develop essential leadership skills
Requirements
- BA or BS in education, history, sociology, or psychology
- 3-5 years of teaching experience or equivalent
- Proven experience working with teenagers
- Effective communication and listening skills
- Demonstrated ability to achieve project goals and objectives
Preferred Qualifications
- MA or PhD in a relevant field
Benefits
- Stipend ranging from $1,000.00 to $1,750.00 based on education and experience
