Instructor of Surgical Technology

Responsibilities

• Conduct didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction for Surgical Technology students
• Develop and implement course outlines, instructional materials, and clinical experiences
• Evaluate student performance in lecture and lab settings and provide necessary remediation
• Manage student academic advising, degree transcript tracking, and progress monitoring
• Utilize learning management systems (LMS), Exam Soft, and Trajecsys to conduct assessments
• Participate in program, divisional, and University committees and meetings
• Travel to clinical sites in Central and South Louisiana as required

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited education program
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room (first scrub role) or as a surgical technology instructor
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through an NCCA-accredited national certification program

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited education program
• 5 years of experience in the operating room first scrub role and as a surgical technology instructor
