Instructor of Surgical Technology

Responsibilities

• Conduct didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction for Surgical Technology students
• Develop and implement course outlines, instructional materials, and remedial plans
• Evaluate student performance in lecture, laboratory, and clinical settings
• Administer and proctor assessments using the University's learning management system
• Provide academic advising, track student progress, and manage degree transcripts
• Participate in program, divisional, and University committees and meetings
• Travel to clinical sites in Central and South Louisiana as required

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited program
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room (first scrub role) or as a surgical technology instructor
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through an NCCA-accredited program

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution
• 5 years of experience in the operating room or as a surgical technology instructor
