Instructor of Nursing

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement classroom, clinical, laboratory, and simulated clinical learning experiences.
• Facilitate student learning across the nursing curriculum using diverse teaching methods.
• Supervise students in patient care areas and conduct clinical conferences to promote reflection.
• Provide timely verbal and written feedback and ongoing evaluation of student progress.
• Advise students regarding academic development, course scheduling, and clinical stress management.
• Participate in program assessment, curriculum revision, and compliance with state and accreditation standards.
• Serve on university and nursing faculty committees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
• Current enrollment in a graduate nursing program at the time of hire.
• Active, unencumbered nursing license in the state of Louisiana.
• CPR Certification (Basic Cardiac Life Support).

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) or Ph.D. in Nursing.
• Minimum of 5 or more years of professional experience.
• Previous clinical experience as a registered nurse.
