About the Company
The School of Korean at Middlebury College offers a unique 8-week summer program that combines a cultural immersion environment with rigorous daily classroom instruction. The program encourages students and faculty to engage in dining, residing, and recreating while communicating exclusively in Korean.
Responsibilities
- Provide intensive daily classroom instruction in Korean
- Engage in a cultural immersion environment with students
- Participate in the instructional team to support student learning
- Actively engage in community activities including dining and recreation
Requirements
- Ph.D., ABD, or M.A. with strong credentials
- DML (Doctorate of Modern Language)
- Experience teaching Korean as a second language in a proficiency-oriented program
- Experience teaching in an intensive Korean program
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated success working as a member of an instructional team
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to teach a cultural or interdisciplinary module (e.g., music, poetry, arts, calligraphy, dance, Samulnori, Taekwondo, or sports)
