About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach lecture and laboratory sections for Human Anatomy and Physiology I, Human Anatomy and Physiology II, and other supporting curriculum courses
- Fulfill university expectations for scholarship through research, publication, grant development, and creative achievement
- Provide academic advising to students, including developing individualized educational plans and exploring career goals
- Mentor biology majors through the research process
- Participate in departmental, school, and university service, including committee work and faculty meetings
- Develop course syllabi, align learning objectives with program goals, and evaluate student performance
- Assist the Department Chair with student recruitment, retention plans, and long-range strategic planning
Requirements
- Master's degree in Anatomy, Anatomy & Physiology, or an appropriate related discipline
- Educational preparation in accordance with University and SACS requirements
- Evidence of potential for effective teaching
- Evidence of potential for scholarly activity
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous college-level teaching experience
