Instructor, Nursing

Responsibilities

• Provide competency-based quality instruction in classroom, lab, and clinical settings
• Develop and utilize various instructional strategies and delivery methods to meet diverse learning styles
• Prepare lecture, lab, and class materials and maintain current course syllabi
• Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress, and competency attainment
• Participate in curriculum development, course revision, and selection of instructional materials
• Advise students regarding academic needs and refer them to additional assistance as required
• Participate in college and program projects, committee work, and professional development

Requirements

• Master's or Doctorate degree with a major in Nursing
• 3 years of clinical work experience related to the teaching assignment
• BCLS certification
• Iowa RN license (or ability to obtain prior to start of employment)
• Ability to comply with clinical partner vaccination, safety, and health requirements
• Demonstrated effectiveness working with diverse populations and cultures

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in curriculum development and learning assessment
• Ability to use and apply alternative instructional delivery systems to enhance learning
