Instructor, Nursing

Responsibilities

• Provide competency-based quality instruction in classroom, lab, and clinical settings
• Develop and utilize various instructional strategies and delivery methods to meet diverse learning styles
• Prepare lecture, lab, and class materials and maintain current course syllabi
• Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress, and competency attainment
• Participate in curriculum development, course revision, and selection of instructional materials
• Advise students regarding academic needs and refer them to additional assistance as required
• Engage in college and program projects, committee work, and professional development activities
• Promote the nursing program to prospective students through recruitment and marketing efforts

Requirements

• Master's or Doctorate degree with a major in Nursing
• 3 years of clinical work experience related to the teaching assignment
• BCLS certification
• Iowa RN license or the ability to obtain one prior to the start of employment
• Ability to function effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrated effectiveness working with diverse populations and cultures
• Ability to comply with clinical partner requirements, including vaccinations and health screenings

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in curriculum development and learning assessment
• Ability to use and apply alternative instructional delivery systems to enhance learning
