About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach one upper-level Plant Biology lecture and laboratory course during the Fall 2026 semester
- Provide student support and availability for approximately three hours per week outside of scheduled course time
- Maintain laboratory resources, including specimens and models, necessary for the course
- Manage course inventory, including ordering supplies and equipment
- Collaborate with the Department Chair and other faculty to develop and maintain the course
- Write student letters of recommendation when appropriate
Requirements
- Postgraduate professional or academic degree (Master's or Doctorate) in hand or expected by Fall 2026
- Demonstrated interest and potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching
- Experience working with diverse academic populations and a commitment to inclusive learning environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful previous teaching experience at the college level
