Instructor, HVAC

Responsibilities

• Provide competency-based quality instruction in HVAC within classroom, lab, and clinical settings
• Develop and utilize various instructional strategies and delivery methods to meet diverse learning styles
• Prepare lecture, lab, and class materials while maintaining current course syllabi and outlines
• Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress, and competency attainment
• Foster a safe and civil learning environment for all students
• Participate in curriculum development, program recruitment, and college committee work
• Advise students regarding academic needs and refer them to appropriate assistance

Requirements

• CTE registration, certification, or licensure in the relevant occupational area
• Must meet one of the following educational/experience criteria:
• Baccalaureate or graduate degree in a related field (or a baccalaureate degree with at least 18 credit hours in the CTE field)
• Associate degree in the CTE field with at least 3,000 hours of recent and relevant work experience
• HVAC diploma or related training, a journeyperson’s license, and an ESCO 608 Universal license, plus at least 6,000 hours of relevant work experience
• Ability to perform heavy physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs and performing fine motor coordination

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience
• Experience with alternative instructional delivery systems to enhance learning
• Experience in curriculum development and learning assessment
