Instructor, HVAC

Responsibilities

• Provide competency-based instruction in HVAC within classroom, lab, and clinical settings
• Develop and utilize various instructional strategies and delivery methods to meet diverse learning styles
• Prepare lecture, lab, and class materials while maintaining current course syllabi and outlines
• Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress, and competency attainment
• Participate in curriculum development, textbook selection, and program recruitment efforts
• Foster a safe and civil learning environment and maintain established office hours for student assistance
• Engage in professional development and participate in college committees and advisory activities

Requirements

• CTE registration, certification, or licensure in the relevant occupational area
• Must meet at least one of the following educational/experience criteria:
• Baccalaureate or graduate degree in a related field (or baccalaureate with 18+ credit hours in the CTE field)
• Associate degree in the CTE field with at least 3,000 hours of recent and relevant work experience
• HVAC diploma or related training, HVAC-Mechanical journeyperson’s license, ESCO 608 Universal license, and at least 6,000 hours of relevant work experience
• Ability to perform heavy physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs and performing fine motor coordination

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience
• Ability to use and apply alternative instructional delivery systems to enhance learning
• Experience in curriculum development and learning assessment
