Instructor - DMS

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction for didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses within the Diagnostic Medical Sonography programs
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that support student learning and academic success
• Conduct clinical site visits to provide instruction and evaluate student performance in real-world settings
• Utilize active learning methods and instructional technologies to accommodate diverse learning needs
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and grades in accordance with accreditation standards
• Provide academic guidance and support to students regarding coursework, study strategies, and clinical expectations
• Support the program director and clinical coordinator to promote positive student and program outcomes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a health-related field
• Minimum of five years of recent professional experience as a sonographer
• Active ARDMS credentials, including Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Adult Echo (AE), and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• Demonstrated clinical and/or didactic teaching experience
• Experience in curriculum development, student supervision, and assessment
• In-depth knowledge of adult echocardiography and vascular sonography
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education, sonography, healthcare, or a related field
• Previous teaching experience in higher education or community college settings
• Experience teaching in face-to-face, hybrid, and online environments
• Additional professional certifications such as RDMS
• Experience with accreditation standards and clinical partnership coordination
• Proficiency with instructional technologies, simulation equipment, and learning management systems
