About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide competency-based instruction in construction technology through classroom, lab, and clinical settings
- Develop and utilize various instructional strategies and delivery methods to meet diverse learning styles
- Prepare lecture and lab materials, maintain current course syllabi, and inform students of requirements and policies
- Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress, and competency attainment
- Participate in curriculum development, textbook selection, and program recruitment efforts
- Engage in college and program projects, committee work, and advisory committee activities
- Maintain office hours and provide academic advising to students
Requirements
- CTE registration, certification, or licensure in the relevant occupational area
- One of the following educational/experience combinations:
- Baccalaureate or graduate degree in a related field (or a baccalaureate degree with at least 18 credit hours in the CTE field)
- Associate degree in the CTE field with at least 3,000 hours of recent and relevant work experience
- Registered apprenticeship or journeyman status with at least 6,000 hours of relevant tested work experience
- NCCER Core or Carpentry certification
- Ability to meet heavy physical demands, including standing for long periods and lifting between 40 and 100 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using alternative instructional delivery systems to enhance learning
- Experience in curriculum development and learning assessment
