Instructor Au Pair

Responsibilities

• Provide creative learning experiences and curriculum for international au pairs as part of the University Au Pair Certificate Program
• Design engaging activities that accommodate diverse learning styles and varying English proficiency levels for adults aged 18-26
• Facilitate project and inquiry-based curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking and interdisciplinary connections
• Conduct in-person classes on the LIU Post campus in Brookville, NY, at least one weekend per month
• Manage pre-coursework and post-coursework to ensure a total of 36 hours of instruction is met
• Support visiting international students in their immersion into United States culture

Requirements

• Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills
• Ability to teach using different types of media
• Evidence of originality, initiative, and enthusiasm for teaching
• Flexible teaching style suitable for an international adult population

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree
• NYS Permanent Teaching Certification (K-12) in Teacher Education
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience
