Instructor - Athletics

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate athletic instructional activities for youth within the Expect Excellence program.
• Develop structured and engaging lesson plans tailored to elementary, middle, and high school students.
• Provide individual and small group instruction to adapt curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by enforcing program rules and safety guidelines.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, including setting up, distributing, and collecting athletic gear.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and practice schedules.
• Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and leadership.
• Complete required documentation such as hours worked, class sizes, and program photographs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent recent relevant full-time work experience.
• Experience with youth instruction, coaching, or enrichment programs.
• Working knowledge of specialized athletic disciplines (e.g., football, basketball, soccer, etc.).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing formal lesson plans or structured educational programs.
• Advanced education, certification, or formal training in athletic instruction.
• Previous experience supervising elementary or middle school-aged children in a structured setting.
