Responsibilities
- Teach psychiatric nursing courses, including classroom, laboratory, and clinical components
- Supervise students in psychiatric clinical placements and assess clinical competencies
- Assist in curriculum development and continuous improvement for psychiatric nursing education
- Serve as an academic advisor and mentor for nursing students
- Participate in departmental committees, accreditation activities, and faculty governance
- Engage in scholarly or professional activities consistent with institutional expectations
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing (required); Doctorate in Nursing (preferred)
- Active, unencumbered RN license in Mississippi (or eligibility for licensure)
- Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience in psychiatric nursing
- Strong teaching, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching psychiatric nursing in a higher education setting
- Familiarity with simulation-based instruction and online learning platforms
- Experience with accreditation processes such as CCNE or ACEN
