Instructor/Assistant Professor of Psychiatric Nursing

Responsibilities

• Teach psychiatric nursing courses, including classroom, laboratory, and clinical components
• Supervise students in psychiatric clinical placements and assess clinical competencies
• Assist in curriculum development and continuous improvement for psychiatric nursing education
• Serve as an academic advisor and mentor for nursing students
• Participate in departmental committees, accreditation activities, and faculty governance
• Engage in scholarly or professional activities consistent with institutional expectations

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Nursing (required); Doctorate in Nursing (preferred)
• Active, unencumbered RN license in Mississippi (or eligibility for licensure)
• Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience in psychiatric nursing
• Strong teaching, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching psychiatric nursing in a higher education setting
• Familiarity with simulation-based instruction and online learning platforms
• Experience with accreditation processes such as CCNE or ACEN
