Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor

Responsibilities

• Teach ground school courses including private, instrument, and commercial certifications
• Instruct on subjects such as aviation meteorology, aircraft systems, aerodynamics, propulsion, and human factors
• Develop and update course materials to align with FAA regulations and industry best practices
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students pursuing aviation careers
• Engage in research, professional development, and service activities to advance the program
• Participate in departmental, college, and university committees
• Maintain strict compliance with FAA regulations and university policies

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Science, Business, or Education
• Active FAA certifications (CFI, CFII, or Advanced Ground Instructor)
• Comprehensive knowledge of FAA regulations and procedures
• Proven experience in ground instruction

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two years of college-level teaching experience or experience in a Part 141/61 flight school
• Industry experience as a commercial pilot, airline transport pilot (ATP), or in a related aviation field
• Experience with curriculum development and accreditation processes
