Instructional Tech Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain technology for learning, teaching, and collaboration spaces, including classrooms, auditoriums, and computer labs.
• Provide project leadership and technical design support for renovations and new building construction in partnership with campus planning and facility services.
• Coordinate operational and technical support for University classroom spaces, computer laboratories, and the Makerspace.
• Operate, integrate, and maintain classroom presentation systems, including computing technology and enterprise rich-media distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain audio-visual and computer systems to support hybrid and online teaching modalities.
• Set up and monitor audio-visual equipment such as cameras, projectors, and mixers for live and recorded events.
• Instruct students, faculty, and staff on the effective use of audio-visual equipment.
• Supervise student employees providing technical support services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in information technology or computer science.
• Broad knowledge of audio and video production equipment operation and distribution.
• Working knowledge of Extron Electronics products and control systems.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools and platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
