About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach Emergency Management Services (EMS) courses using learner-centered, active learning strategies.
- Coordinate Phlebotomy, CPR, and EKG certificate programs, including curriculum oversight and compliance management.
- Implement technology to enhance student learning across virtual, online, and in-person classroom settings.
- Provide student academic advisement and collaborate with faculty on curriculum development and program assessment.
- Participate in institutional meetings, college governance, and accreditation processes.
- Assist in the articulation of courses and programs with secondary and post-secondary institutions.
- Engage in professional growth and service to the college and the community.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of recent EMS field experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of prior community college teaching experience.
- Current certification/licensure as an EMT, Paramedic, or related EMS professional.
- Ability to obtain and maintain instructor credentials for certificate programs (e.g., AHA CPR Instructor).
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to teach day, evening, and/or weekend hours as needed.
