About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach Emergency Management Services (EMS) courses using learner-centered, active learning strategies.
  • Coordinate Phlebotomy, CPR, and EKG certificate programs, including curriculum oversight and compliance management.
  • Implement technology to enhance student learning across virtual, online, and in-person classroom settings.
  • Provide student academic advisement and collaborate with faculty on curriculum development and program assessment.
  • Participate in institutional meetings, college governance, and accreditation processes.
  • Assist in the articulation of courses and programs with secondary and post-secondary institutions.
  • Engage in professional growth and service to the college and the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent EMS field experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior community college teaching experience.
  • Current certification/licensure as an EMT, Paramedic, or related EMS professional.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain instructor credentials for certificate programs (e.g., AHA CPR Instructor).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to teach day, evening, and/or weekend hours as needed.
