About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and expertise in instructional design, coaching faculty through course design, assessment, and review processes.
  • Support instructors in the creation of learning objects and compelling digital course elements.
  • Serve as administrative and pedagogical support for instructional technologies, including Canvas, Canvas Studio, and Yuja Panorama.
  • Create and maintain standards for online course delivery, accessible content, and assessment plans to ensure program quality.
  • Develop and offer professional development opportunities, workshops, and training materials to assist faculty in implementing best practices.
  • Collaborate with campus stakeholders to implement inclusive design principles and effective digital learning pedagogy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, education, or a closely related subject area (or a relevant combination of education and experience).
  • In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting teaching and learning in multiple modes (in-person, online, hybrid, synchronous, and asynchronous).
  • Experience using Canvas or other learning management systems (LMS).
  • Experience with audio/video recording, editing, and web-based authoring tools like Articulate.
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards and universal/inclusive design principles.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with stakeholders at all skill levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or education.
  • Formal teaching or training experience in a higher education setting.
  • Experience administering Canvas or other learning management systems.
  • Working knowledge of graphic design principles or experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Demonstrated experience building programs for the continuous and cyclical review of courses.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas effectively to non-technical audiences.
