About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and expertise in instructional design, coaching faculty through course design, assessment, and review processes.
- Support instructors in the creation of learning objects and compelling digital course elements.
- Serve as administrative and pedagogical support for instructional technologies, including Canvas, Canvas Studio, and Yuja Panorama.
- Create and maintain standards for online course delivery, accessible content, and assessment plans to ensure program quality.
- Develop and offer professional development opportunities, workshops, and training materials to assist faculty in implementing best practices.
- Collaborate with campus stakeholders to implement inclusive design principles and effective digital learning pedagogy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, education, or a closely related subject area (or a relevant combination of education and experience).
- In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles and processes.
- Demonstrated experience supporting teaching and learning in multiple modes (in-person, online, hybrid, synchronous, and asynchronous).
- Experience using Canvas or other learning management systems (LMS).
- Experience with audio/video recording, editing, and web-based authoring tools like Articulate.
- Familiarity with web accessibility standards and universal/inclusive design principles.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with stakeholders at all skill levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or education.
- Formal teaching or training experience in a higher education setting.
- Experience administering Canvas or other learning management systems.
- Working knowledge of graphic design principles or experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Demonstrated experience building programs for the continuous and cyclical review of courses.
- Ability to communicate complex technical ideas effectively to non-technical audiences.
