Instructional Designer

Responsibilities

• Advise, assist, and collaborate with faculty on instructional design projects for online, blended, and traditional learning environments.
• Apply research-based learning theory and instructional design principles to create engaging course designs.
• Coordinate instructional design projects from inception to completion, including data collection, tracking, and documentation.
• Work one-on-one with course developers to provide guidance, feedback, and assessment of development needs.
• Proof course development at multiple stages and collaborate with developers on necessary revisions.
• Explore new course design strategies, contemporary learning models, accessibility standards, and copyright regulations.
• Develop instructional materials and workshops related to course design for faculty and administrative staff.
• Participate in program and course assessment and serve on University committees as appropriate.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Two years of experience in course design or curriculum development.
• Higher education teaching experience.
• Experience working with faculty in a higher education environment.
• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other instructional technologies.
• Strong project management skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Instructional Design or Instructional Technology.
• 3-5 years of instructional design experience in higher education, preferably at a four-year institution.
• Demonstrated proficiency in adult learning theory and principles.
