Instructional Coach, Math

Responsibilities

• Support educators on-site up to four days a week through classroom observations and feedback
• Conduct model lessons and co-teaching sessions alongside classroom teachers
• Lead lesson study cycles and support unit or lesson planning with grade-level teams
• Analyze student work and formative assessment data to drive instructional decision-making
• Provide recommendations to enhance equity of learning for diverse student populations, including English Learners and students with learning differences
• Facilitate district-wide professional development sessions both in-person and remotely
• Collaborate with district leadership to align coaching strategies with school goals

Requirements

• 5+ years of 6-8 math teaching experience with demonstrable student results
• Experience in K-5 or 6-8 instructional coaching or school leadership
• Experience supporting High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) implementation
• Must reside in or near Montgomery County, MD, and be able to travel locally to schools up to 4 days per week
• Proficiency in Google Applications and other technology-based productivity tools
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to build relationships with leaders

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Maryland’s Mathematics Standards
• Experience teaching or supporting Desmos Math or Amplify Desmos Math
• Experience analyzing data to inform instructional practice
• Fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Master’s or Advanced Degree in Education
