Instructional Aide: Visual & Performing Arts - Drama

Responsibilities

• Coordinate instructional efforts with the teacher to assist with daily learning activities in drama, advanced drama, and visual arts
• Provide small group or 1:1 instruction in arts content to students with and without disabilities
• Lead actors in small group rehearsals and assist students with playwriting or art portfolio preparation
• Prepare teaching aids, materials, and supplies such as visuals and drama equipment
• Adapt educational materials to promote differentiated learning for emergent bilinguals and students with disabilities
• Assist in organizing classroom materials, equipment, and displays to maintain an orderly environment
• Observe and report student behavior and support the implementation of school behavior policies
• Ensure the health and safety of students by following established procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree OR pass a local assessment (e.g., CBEST) plus a high school diploma and 2 years of college (48 units) OR an AA degree
• Demonstrated skills in visual and/or performing arts
• Ability to pass a TB test and background check
• Ability to work onsite in Los Angeles, CA

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months of experience working with adolescents or children in a structured learning environment
• Experience with various technology platforms and applications to support student learning
