About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based instruction to special needs children with autism spectrum disorder
- Prepare social, educational, and communication-based instructional lessons and materials for classroom and community-based experiences
- Participate in evaluations and assessments of children enrolled in the programs
- Collect, record, evaluate, and summarize daily, monthly, and quarterly treatment data reports
- Maintain proper order and discipline in the classroom
- Assist in supervising outings and attending parent programs and staff meetings
- Collaborate with staff, therapists, parents, and students
- Assist with public relations events and training new hires
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of evidence-based instruction for individuals with autism
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and interact appropriately with special needs children
- Ability to perform heavy physical work (occasionally exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in special education, early childhood education, or a related field
- Experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- Previous experience providing support for individuals with autism
