About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based instruction to special needs children with autism spectrum disorder
  • Prepare social, educational, and communication-based instructional lessons and materials for classroom and community-based experiences
  • Participate in evaluations and assessments of children enrolled in the programs
  • Collect, record, evaluate, and summarize daily, monthly, and quarterly treatment data reports
  • Maintain proper order and discipline in the classroom
  • Assist in supervising outings and attending parent programs and staff meetings
  • Collaborate with staff, therapists, parents, and students
  • Assist with public relations events and training new hires

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of evidence-based instruction for individuals with autism
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and interact appropriately with special needs children
  • Ability to perform heavy physical work (occasionally exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in special education, early childhood education, or a related field
  • Experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
  • Previous experience providing support for individuals with autism
