About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead signaling installation and correlation design activities for Metrolinx Corridors.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of Site Correlation Reports and update the Book of Plans to ensure alignment with GO Train Interlocking (IXL) specifications.
- Develop signaling and telecommunication installation/wiring diagrams, including fiber schematics, wiring tables, and BOMs.
- Prepare modification design data and develop engineering solutions for complex wayside signaling and telecommunication requirements.
- Provide technical expertise, design cost estimates, and schedule forecasting for installation designers.
- Manage interface coordination with clients and respond to technical queries (TQs) regarding design data.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Valid P.Eng license (required).
- Proven experience as a Design Engineer for Wayside Signaling Systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, DraftSight, and Excel for updating electrical core data and schematics.
- Strong understanding of signaling design processes, including Interlocking (IXL) and ETCS.
- Knowledge of railway signaling standards such as Metrolinx SCP, AREMA, and EN Standards.
- Experience in design team management and work scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Digital Mock Ups (CAD modeling) of harnesses and signaling equipment.
- Familiarity with CBTC and complex normative environments in railway signaling.
- Railway transport training certifications.
