Installation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define installation best practices for the EMEA organization
• Coordinate with installation partners to ensure work is completed on time, on budget, and to Samsara’s quality standards
• Provide onsite oversight for large or complex deployments, including building specifications and real-time troubleshooting
• Perform first-of-kind installations on complex customer projects as a hands-on technical expert
• Assist partners in building project-specific installation guides and deliver onsite training to technicians
• Identify project risks early, propose mitigation strategies, and serve as a point of contact for escalations
• Collaborate with Customer Success, Implementation, and Product teams to share feedback and enhance the installation experience

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing vehicle and/or hardware technology
• Prior vehicle installation or fitter experience (e.g., installing GPS, antennas, or electrical equipment)
• Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including CAN bus and PTO applications
• Experience in field operations coordination, implementation, and technical deployment
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insurable
• Ability to travel frequently, including potential overnight stays

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with tachographs
• Ability to develop professional customer-facing documentation with diagrams
• Familiarity or hands-on experience with AI tools to drive operational efficiency
• Strong bias for standardization and automation
