About the role
Responsibilities
- Follow detailed instructions provided by Managers or Operations Executives
- Review job files prior to inspection to ensure readiness
- Perform inspections in accordance with approved procedures and standards
- Prepare necessary tools, instruments, and documentation for inspections
- Provide guidance to trainees or junior inspectors
- Supervise the inspection team when required
- Coordinate with Port Operations, agents, and terminals regarding vessel status
- Organize and check draft field reports before handover
- Update Operations Executives on daily activities and highlight discrepancies
- Maintain equipment and apparatus used during inspections
- Adhere to SGS Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies
Requirements
- Minimum education of SPM
- 3-5 years of relevant working experience preferred
- Ability to pass the Inspector Quality Assessment if lacking minimum academic qualifications
