About the role
Responsibilities
- Inspect oil field equipment, including wash pipe, drill pipe threads, and hammer union flow iron, using nondestructive testing (NDT) techniques.
- Set up and operate NDT equipment to detect defects and ensure quality compliance.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with company SOPs, API specifications, and DS-1 manuals.
- Utilize magnetic particle (MP), ultrasonic (UT), and liquid penetrant (LP) inspection methods to evaluate parts.
- Document all test results accurately on inspection reports.
- Maintain a safe work environment and participate in company safety and quality initiatives.
- Assist in developing written procedures for conducting NDT methods on pipe.
Requirements
- ASNT NDT Level II certification is required.
- ASNT NDT Level II certification in MP, LP, and UT techniques.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills.
- Ability to frequently lift and move materials up to 75 lbs.
- Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in oil field equipment inspection and repair.
- Background in mechanical repair or testing.
- Weld Inspection Certification.
- Familiarity with TH Hill DS-1 and API 7G2/ISO 10407-2 standards.
