Inspector NACE II

Responsibilities

• Verify cleanliness levels
• Measure surface roughness using replica tape (Testex) or profilometers to ensure mechanical paint bonding
• Perform soluble salt tests (chlorides) using the Bresle method or chemical patches
• Measure wet film thickness (WFT) during application and dry film thickness (DFT) once cured using calibrated Elcometer meters
• Apply deep knowledge of SSPC, ASTM, ISO, and API standards related to coatings in hydrocarbon transport pipelines or mining
• Handle documentary signing and validation

Requirements

• Active AMPP CIP Level 2 or NACE CIP Level 2 certification (verifiable certificate or number required)
• Bachelor's degree or technical degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Metallurgical Engineering, or related fields
• Expert command of SSPC/NACE (surface cleaning), ASTM (adhesion and thickness testing), and ISO 8501 standards
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Paint Inspector in piping, including knowledge of shop coatings (FBE, 3LPE) and field joints (shrink sleeves or liquid epoxies)
