Inspector 3rd Class

Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials, in-process machined parts, and finished parts for compliance with engineering drawings and company specifications.
• Determine inspection procedures to ensure complete verification of dimensions and specifications.
• Calibrate and verify the accuracy of basic inspection tools, including thread gauges, micrometers, and functional gauges.
• Evaluate items outside specification limits and provide recommendations for salvage or rework.
• Assist in training other inspectors on the use of optical comparators, hardness testers, and other inspection tools.
• Complete required company documentation, including inspection records, reports, and material traceability paperwork.

Requirements

• High school or trade school graduate.
• Expert knowledge of engineering blueprint and specification reading in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Extensive experience with various measuring tools and the ability to interpret geometric features.
• Ability to pass a visual acuity test.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to handle delicate parts and measuring instruments.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. for parts handling.
• US citizenship is required.
