About the role
Responsibilities
- Process customer orders and respond to walk-in and telephone sales inquiries for gases and welding products
- Drive sales growth by effectively up-selling gases and welding accessories to customers
- Manage showroom sales and assist customers with product selection and welding applications
- Maintain local inventory control, including branch stock, hard goods, and cylinders
- Handle financial transactions including cash, charge, and credit card orders
- Execute end-of-day, week, and month reporting processes, including SOX and workbench tasks
- Manage shipping and receiving for customer orders and branch transfers
Requirements
- High-school diploma or equivalent experience in industrial supplies or customer service
- Proven track record of customer satisfaction and effective up-selling skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
- Experience working in a safety-conscious team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the welding industry and related processes
