About the role

Responsibilities

  • Partner with account teams to develop territory plans, account strategies, and sales plans
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory
  • Engage directly with senior IT leadership to understand technical, operational, and business challenges
  • Conduct pre-sales discovery and translate findings into clear messaging aligned to business and technical value
  • Propose and deliver compelling virtual demonstrations, including presentations, whiteboarding, and pilots
  • Execute and manage proof-of-concepts (POCs) to demonstrate solution effectiveness
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams including sales, support, product, and marketing
  • Provide technical enablement and support for channel and alliance partners
  • Maintain technical expertise through continuous learning and industry engagement
  • Use Salesforce to keep leadership informed of key developments and pipeline status

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in the software or storage industry
  • 1–3 years of experience in a pre-sales or Sales Engineer role
  • Proven ability to conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs) and architect data management solutions
  • Knowledge of backup, recovery, data migration, replication, and compliance
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major operating system, hypervisor, or cloud platform
  • Familiarity with infrastructure technologies including storage, servers, cloud, DevOps, and containers
  • Exposure to enterprise applications such as SAP, Oracle, Exchange, Kubernetes, or Docker
  • Proficiency with Salesforce for pipeline and process management
  • Strong consultative selling skills, including business case creation and TCO modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies such as MEDDIC or Command of the Message
