Inserter Operator

Responsibilities

• Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to ascertain materials to be moved
• Feed, remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, labels, or other in-process products
• Load and unload materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
• Convey materials using hand trucks, electric dollies, or other devices
• Count, weigh, and record units of materials moved on daily production sheets
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or containers
• Stack or assemble materials into bundles using banding machines
• Operate automated equipment, industrial trucks, or electric hoists to assist in moving products

Requirements

• Knowledge of general warehouse layout and item identification codes
• Ability to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items per operating instructions
• Ability to complete forms relating to stock description, quantity, and labeling
• Skill in using shrink-wrap, strapping equipment, pallet jacks, and manual dollies
• Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, pliers, and metal band shears
• Ability to operate a forklift truck may be required
