Inpatient Therapist/Counselor

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling, assessments, and group facilitation to individuals and families
• Coordinate all aspects of direct clinical care from admission to discharge
• Consult with the multidisciplinary treatment team to provide quality patient care
• Collaborate with patients in the development of written treatment plans
• Document clinical assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress charting in a timely manner
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions
• Provide clinical updates to utilization review and managed care representatives
• Coordinate with community-based providers to ensure optimal post-discharge outcomes

Requirements

• Active substance abuse or mental health licensure in the state of service
• 1+ year of experience in a relevant field
• Ability to work with diverse populations
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with patients
• Understanding of ethical standards for respective licensure governing boards

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems
• Excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
