About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the Basco facility, making critical decisions on filtration strategy, viscosity, heating, and escalation
- Lead structured troubleshooting for abnormal events by forming hypotheses, designing tests, and documenting root-cause findings
- Manage the on-site interface for PLC, HMI, automation, and downhole-sensor changes in coordination with the controls team
- Oversee operational cadence, including weekly operator scheduling, payroll/timecard accuracy, and training matrix management
- Drive a sample, lab, and data-quality program to support engineering and regulatory requirements
- Lead hiring and team development for operator-level roles, including interviewing and conducting 30/60/90-day development checkpoints
- Build the "next-site playbook" by capturing SOPs, training materials, and lessons learned to facilitate future site scaling
Requirements
- BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent demonstrated technical depth)
- 7+ years of operating experience in fluid-systems, chemical process plants, produced-water injection, or comparable operations
- Direct supervisory experience leading a crew of 6–12 operators across shifts
- Proven experience with structured troubleshooting of pump, filter, viscosity, or pressure issues
- Ability to relocate to or commit to a long-stay rotation in rural Louisiana
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment background, drug, and physical screenings
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in Upstream oilfield operations (Class I, II, V, or VI injection wells) or Downstream oil operations (refineries/terminals)
- Experience working with PLC/HMI-controlled facilities and change management
- Experience as a hiring manager in a payroll-regulated environment
- Track record of building operations teams from a small core into a 24/7 organization
- Comfort working with novel processes and non-standard hydrocarbon streams
