Infusion Nurse

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-treatment patient assessments, including review of medical history and eligibility for therapy
• Initiate and manage peripheral IV access and central lines using sterile technique
• Prepare and administer IV and injectable specialty medications following Health Canada and nursing standards
• Monitor patients during and post-infusion, responding to adverse events per medical directives
• Document all patient care activities accurately within electronic medical records
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, medications, and potential side effects
• Maintain medication accountability and participate in clinic compliance and quality audits
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and clinic staff to ensure coordinated care

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in infusion or ambulatory care
• Infusion certification or demonstrated hands-on IV infusion experience
• Current CPR certification
• Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience administering biologics, oncology, or specialty pharmaceutical therapies
• ACLS certification
• Experience managing infusion-related adverse events
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems
• Ability to work across multiple clinic locations within the region
