Infusion Nurse

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-treatment patient assessments, including review of medical history and eligibility for therapy
• Initiate and manage peripheral IV access and central lines using sterile technique
• Prepare and administer IV and injectable specialty medications in accordance with Health Canada and nursing standards
• Monitor patients during and after infusions, identifying and responding to adverse events
• Document all patient care activities accurately within electronic medical records
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, medications, and side effects
• Maintain medication accountability and participate in clinic quality and compliance audits
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current registration in good standing with a Canadian provincial College of Nurses
• Minimum of 2+ years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in infusion or ambulatory care
• Infusion certification or demonstrated hands-on IV infusion experience
• Current CPR certification
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience administering biologics, oncology, or specialty pharmaceutical therapies
• ACLS certification
• Experience managing infusion-related adverse events
• Experience using electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems
