Infusion Nurse

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care through the administration of intravenous and injectable specialty medications, including biologics.
• Conduct pre-treatment patient assessments, including review of medical history and eligibility for therapy.
• Initiate and manage peripheral IV access and central lines using sterile technique.
• Monitor patients during and post-infusion, identifying and responding to adverse events per medical directives.
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, medications, and potential side effects.
• Document all patient care activities accurately within electronic patient records and clinical systems.
• Maintain medication accountability and participate in clinic compliance and quality initiatives.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current registration and good standing with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in infusion or ambulatory care.
• Infusion certification or demonstrated hands-on IV infusion experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience administering biologics, oncology, or specialty pharmaceutical therapies.
• ACLS certification.
• Experience managing infusion-related adverse events.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems.
