Infusion Nurse

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-treatment patient assessments, including review of contraindications, medical history, and eligibility for therapy
• Initiate and manage peripheral IV access and access central lines using sterile technique and best practices
• Prepare, handle, and administer IV and injectable specialty medications in accordance with manufacturer and nursing standards
• Monitor patients during and post-infusion, identifying and responding to adverse events per medical directives
• Document all patient care activities accurately within electronic patient records and clinical systems
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, medications, side effects, and self-administration
• Maintain medication accountability and participate in audits, quality initiatives, and clinic compliance activities
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and clinic staff to support coordinated patient care

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current registration and good standing with the applicable provincial College of Nurses in Canada
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in infusion, ambulatory care, or specialty clinical settings
• Infusion certification or demonstrated hands-on IV infusion experience
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to work onsite in a clinic environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience administering biologics, oncology, or specialty pharmaceutical therapies
• ACLS certification
• Experience managing infusion-related adverse events
• Experience using electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems
• Ability to work across multiple clinic locations within a defined region
