Infusion Nurse

Responsibilities

• Administer investigational compounds, chemotherapy, and biotherapy according to clinical trial protocols and applicable regulations
• Manage IV and venous access devices, including performing venipuncture and accessing implanted ports
• Monitor patient therapy and assess physiological/developmental differences in the patient population
• Ensure protocol integrity by confirming informed consent and documenting all study-specific procedures, including vital signs, ECGs, and lab collections
• Collaborate with investigators and healthcare teams to manage treatment schedules, drug dose modifications, and symptom management
• Provide patient and family education regarding study procedures, self-administered agents, and community resources
• Maintain strict adherence to OSHA guidelines for handling cytotoxic agents and biohazardous waste
• Document all elements of care and communicate pertinent information to physicians or mid-level providers

Requirements

• Current Registered Nursing (RN) License in the state where the role is based
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)
• Proven experience in chemotherapy and biotherapy administration
• Proficiency in IV and venous access device management

Preferred Qualifications

• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
