Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer

About the Company

Pacific Fusion was founded in 2023 with the mission to power the world with abundant, affordable, clean energy. We are rapidly designing and building a pulser-driven inertial fusion system to achieve net facility gain.

Responsibilities

• Develop facility mechanical equipment requirements and guidelines for building systems including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and other infrastructure systems
• Assist in the design and development of utility systems including pneumatic, fluid, and vacuum systems
• Interface with engineers, scientists, and technicians to obtain facility mechanical inputs
• Work with the Infrastructure Design Team to ensure building mechanical systems are documented and designed appropriately for permitting, construction, commissioning, and operations
• Develop building systems commissioning, maintenance, and operations plans

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• 7+ years of experience in design, construction, facility operations, or commissioning for industrial, manufacturing, or research facilities
• Experience with HVAC, process piping, fire sprinkler, and plumbing systems
• Hands-on experience with industrial, manufacturing, or research facility commissioning and operations
• Strong multidisciplinary program management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• PE license
• Experience working in a startup
• Experience in fusion, energy, aerospace, or chemical industries
