Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities

• Ownership over data center infrastructure to ensure optimal and reliable operation
• Contacting and supervising third-party vendors for remote equipment installation and maintenance
• Performing hardware installation and troubleshooting existing hardware
• Documenting new and established procedures to foster best practices
• Cooperating with engineers for stable and secure infrastructure deployments
• Working with network engineers to upgrade and replace network equipment
• Developing automated provisioning systems and maintaining inventory
• Troubleshooting software issues related to hardware failures
• Providing in-office hardware support and collaborating with traders and technologists

Requirements

• BA/BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related experience
• 2+ years of experience in a related field
• Hands-on experience cabling, racking, and installing bare metal servers and network devices
• Experience with remote management tools like iDrac or iLO
• Understanding of automated provisioning tools such as PXE or Foreman
• Linux administration experience (Debian, CentOS)
• Practical knowledge of inventory tools like Netbox
• Understanding of monitoring tools including Icinga2, Grafana, or ELK
• Experience with infrastructure management tools like Ansible or Puppet
• Proficiency with ticketing and documentation tools like Jira and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications

• Working experience with Windows
• Experience with scripting and automation using Python or Bash
• Experience in a low latency environment (Solarflare, Onload, PTP)
