Infrastructure Engineer

About the Company

Northwood is a modern space infrastructure company bringing the benefits of space to the masses through advanced communications technology. We are building a global network of phased array ground stations that enable real-time, reliable communication for satellite missions.

Responsibilities

• Learn the Northwood stack in depth including AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Vault, observability, and networking
• Execute scoped infrastructure tasks with guidance from senior engineers
• Contribute to infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, observability configuration, and operational tooling
• Shadow on-call rotations and triage incidents
• Participate in post-incident reviews to build operational judgment
• Write clear runbooks, component docs, and design notes
• Pair with senior engineers on larger projects to build pattern recognition

Requirements

• 0-2 years of professional experience in infrastructure, platform, DevOps, SRE, networking, or systems engineering
• Working familiarity with Linux, networking, and at least one major cloud provider
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi) and Git
• Ability to read and write code in Python, Go, Bash, or similar
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance
• Must meet ITAR compliance requirements (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual)

• Interest in Networking (Routing, VPNs, firewalls)
• Security engineering (Vault, IAM, SIEM)
• Compliance knowledge (CMMC, FedRAMP, NIST 800-171, ITAR)
• Observability experience (Prometheus, Grafana)
• App platform experience (Kubernetes, ArgoCD, GitOps)
• CI/CD pipeline design
• Cloud architecture (AWS, GovCloud, Cloudflare)
• On-prem and edge systems experience
