Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own and scale the AWS infrastructure behind Navi's platform, from data ingest to AI pipelines to customer-facing dashboards
• Architect for real scale: user data and processing for 100,000+ users at 100 requests per second
• Build monitoring and alerting to detect system degradation
• Design automatic fallback and failover mechanisms
• Manage infrastructure costs and optimize cloud spend
• Own infrastructure documentation and runbooks
• Contribute to backend pipelines, APIs, and services

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building and operating production infrastructure
• Experience managing user data and processing at scale (100,000+ users)
• Deep, hands-on AWS experience including services and failure modes
• Experience building observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response from scratch
• Proven track record of shipping automatic failover mechanisms in production
• Ability to treat cost as an engineering metric
• Strong general backend engineering skills
• Excellent technical documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling infrastructure from seed stage through Series C
• Background in big tech combined with early-stage experience
• Network within airlines, charter operators, or military flight training
• Experience selling technical products into regulated industries
• Background as a pilot or familiarity with flight operations
