About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform software and hardware updates to maintain test infrastructure and ensure alignment with release configurations
  • Maintain and configure testing procedures, special tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Serve as the lead test engineer for specific infotainment feature clusters, partnering with project managers
  • Execute assigned test cases for embedded infotainment features and functions
  • Report defects promptly with supporting documentation, traces, and technical communication
  • Review work procedures to drive improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, and cost reduction
  • Drive Mercedes-Benz prototype vehicles as a regular part of the role
  • Travel domestically (10–15%) as required for testing and validation

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in automotive or consumer electronics validation
  • Experience with ECU updates, vehicle diagnostics, and related tools
  • Basic knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and vehicle architectures
  • Ability to plan testing strategies, execute test cases, and report clear error descriptions
  • Ability to remove and replace infotainment head units within vehicle environments
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

  • R&D engineering experience with a focus on connected vehicles
  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, Automotive Ethernet, or Flexray
  • Familiarity with agile and waterfall product development methods in the automotive industry
