About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform software and hardware updates to maintain test infrastructure and ensure alignment with release configurations
- Maintain and configure testing procedures, special tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Serve as the lead test engineer for specific infotainment feature clusters, partnering with project managers
- Execute assigned test cases for embedded infotainment features and functions
- Report defects promptly with supporting documentation, traces, and technical communication
- Review work procedures to drive improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, and cost reduction
- Drive Mercedes-Benz prototype vehicles as a regular part of the role
- Travel domestically (10–15%) as required for testing and validation
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in automotive or consumer electronics validation
- Experience with ECU updates, vehicle diagnostics, and related tools
- Basic knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and vehicle architectures
- Ability to plan testing strategies, execute test cases, and report clear error descriptions
- Ability to remove and replace infotainment head units within vehicle environments
- Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
- R&D engineering experience with a focus on connected vehicles
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, Automotive Ethernet, or Flexray
- Familiarity with agile and waterfall product development methods in the automotive industry
