About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage computers, printers, and telephone systems across two office locations
- Provide hands-on help desk support to staff
- Monitor network performance, including software, hardware, power, and communications
- Coordinate with the City’s Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) for network security and connectivity
- Troubleshoot desktop software, security updates (McAfee, CrowdStrike), and network issues
- Maintain IT inventory and manage vendor relationships for Cisco switches
- Monitor and troubleshoot VoIP telephone connections
- Support MacBook and iMac devices in conjunction with the OTI Apple Support Team
- Document all facets of IT network operations and recommend configuration improvements
Requirements
- Experience in a LAN/WAN environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365
- Knowledge of PC hardware/software and network configuration (DHCP, DNS)
- Familiarity with Windows Server
- Ability to meet specific education and experience combinations (e.g., Master's + 3 years IT experience including 18 months in a managerial capacity, or equivalent combinations)
