About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage computers, printers, and telephone systems across two office locations
  • Provide hands-on help desk support to staff
  • Monitor network performance, including software, hardware, power, and communications
  • Coordinate with the City’s Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) for network security and connectivity
  • Troubleshoot desktop software, security updates (McAfee, CrowdStrike), and network issues
  • Maintain IT inventory and manage vendor relationships for Cisco switches
  • Monitor and troubleshoot VoIP telephone connections
  • Support MacBook and iMac devices in conjunction with the OTI Apple Support Team
  • Document all facets of IT network operations and recommend configuration improvements

Requirements

  • Experience in a LAN/WAN environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365
  • Knowledge of PC hardware/software and network configuration (DHCP, DNS)
  • Familiarity with Windows Server
  • Ability to meet specific education and experience combinations (e.g., Master's + 3 years IT experience including 18 months in a managerial capacity, or equivalent combinations)
