Responsibilities

  • Provide support for hardware, software, and network issues, including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and mobile devices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues
  • Perform routine system maintenance, including software updates, security patches, and backups
  • Document and track support tickets using a helpdesk management system
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging IT trends and technologies
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff on complex technical projects, migrations, and system upgrades
  • Ensure adherence to security best practices, including data protection and access control

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or a related field
  • Basic ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  • Comfort in at least one operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to work full-time in office in Austin, TX (40 hours/week) from August through December
  • Must be a U.S. Person (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or protected class)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with helpdesk or ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk)
  • Exposure to endpoint or device management (Microsoft Intune, Jamf, SCCM)
  • Familiarity with identity and directory services (Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta)
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, ethernet, Wi-Fi)
  • Exposure to scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
