Information System Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies
• Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet requirements for processing multiple information types
• Assist with Configuration Management for security software, hardware, and firmware
• Analyze threats and implement methodologies for incident detection, reporting, and vulnerability remediation
• Maintain records on workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, and network switches
• Support the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in maintaining operational IA posture
• Develop and maintain documentation for Certification & Accreditation and System Security Plans (SSP)
• Manage Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) including responses and system scans
• Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms

Requirements

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with MD Full Scope Polygraph
• 10+ years of experience as an ISSO in secure information system environments
• 5+ years of experience with IAVA management tools
• 5+ years of experience managing SSPs and security documentation
• In-depth experience with security evaluations of software systems or architectures
• Demonstrated experience in day-to-day security operations of large, complex systems
• Knowledge of security tools, hardware/software implementation, and encryption techniques

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 12+ years of relevant experience
• DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level II or higher
• DoD 8570 compliance with IAM Level II or higher
