Information System Security Officer (ISSO)

Responsibilities

• Achieve Authorization to Operate (ATO) for software across multiple government customers with minimal oversight
• Partner with engineers to analyze software, interpret security requirements, and plan effective control implementations
• Serve as the primary in-person point of contact for U.S. Government customers regarding cybersecurity and compliance
• Independently interpret findings from vulnerability scanning utilities such as ACAS (Tenable Nessus) and SCAP (STIG benchmark)
• Manage a Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) for the remediation of security findings
• Build standardized security documentation and generate evidence of compliance

Requirements

• Active U.S. DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• Active DOD 8140 or 8570 Certification (e.g., CISSP or Security+)
• Active IAT II certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience directly supporting the ATO/RMF process
• Proven experience using eMASS or XACTA accreditation management software
• Ability to be at the customer site 5 days per week
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in both traditional on-premises and cloud environments (such as AWS)
• Experience accrediting IT systems against NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DISA STIGs
• Proficiency in frameworks such as DOD RMF, ICD 503, or DIACAP
• Background in Systems Administration, Software Development, or Systems Engineering
