About the role
Responsibilities
- Achieve Authorization to Operate (ATO) for software across multiple government customers with minimal oversight
- Partner with engineers to analyze software, interpret security requirements, and plan effective control implementations
- Serve as the primary in-person point of contact for U.S. Government customers regarding cybersecurity and compliance
- Independently interpret findings from vulnerability scanning utilities such as ACAS (Tenable Nessus) and SCAP (STIG benchmark)
- Manage a Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) for the remediation of security findings
- Build standardized security documentation and generate evidence of compliance
Requirements
- Active U.S. DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- Active DOD 8140 or 8570 Certification (e.g., CISSP or Security+)
- Active IAT II certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience directly supporting the ATO/RMF process
- Proven experience using eMASS or XACTA accreditation management software
- Ability to be at the customer site 5 days per week
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in both traditional on-premises and cloud environments (such as AWS)
- Experience accrediting IT systems against NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DISA STIGs
- Proficiency in frameworks such as DOD RMF, ICD 503, or DIACAP
- Background in Systems Administration, Software Development, or Systems Engineering
